上端切断の後表裏から面取り、下端・左右両辺削り。「当帰（トウキ）」は、セリ科の多年草トウキ（和名カラトウキ）の根に比定される。『本草集注』草木中品、『本草和名』草中に「也末世利、宇末世利、加波佐久」、『医心方』に「宇末世利、也末世利、於保世利、加波佐久」とみえる。『延喜式』典薬寮に、丹波国が当帰を貢納する規定はみえないが（７８丹波年料雑薬条）、隣国の但馬国に「当帰十斤」の規定があるなど十七箇国の年料雑薬としてみえる（８０但馬年料雑薬条など）。奈良県飛鳥京跡苑池遺構から「当帰二両」（奈良県立橿原考古学研究所『史跡・名勝飛鳥京跡苑池（一）』五一号）と記した木簡が出土している。 |
